View Full Version : Dulce and Zoet brand Baby slings

Danni

I was given a Dulce and Zoet baby sling when Brianna was a couple of months old. I now wonder how I survived without it.
Baby can be carried in many different ways and I even discovered a few more over the weekend:
cradle hold
upright chest to chest
sitting, forward facing
on back
on hip
sitting propped sideways

Even with all these different positions, the weight of the baby is evenly distributed across the shoulder and body so baby never feels too heavy.

They are available for purchase at To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. and similar styles are also available on trademe.

Takes a few tries to get used to it Kylie so don't give up if it's a struggle at first. Definitely worth the perseverance though. :)

I've been looking at Natures Sway but these look far more versatile and not as expensive either.. Thanks for the recommendation Danni & Kirsty :)

Are these good for older babes? I am looking for something when i dont wanna take a pram or stroller anywhere!

Danni

I still use mine comfortably with Brianna at 7 months. They are sposed to be good for children up to two or three.

Twister ... do NOT go with a naturesway. In fact, don't buy anything till I have shown you mine. LOL I will have it with me on Thursday, and so will Kirsty so we can brainwash you then. LOL

I second the "dont get a natures sway" mine was useless!
I really want one of these though.....would love to see one so I could make it though! They look great, but the price?? pretty steep for two pieces of material sewn together.

Will look into getting one, if I ever have another baby :toetap:

Kirsty
14th June 2007, 10:19 AM
Kelly, i bought a different sling, cheap coz i didn't want to spend that much. I paid $35 and it was AWFUL. The material was cheap, heavy, and the sling not as well made.

This one is well worth the money, it's comfy for me, comfy for Shannon, i just wish i'd had one when i had Dylan!!! They really are wonderful :)

Can I ask what's wrong with the Natures Sway ones? We sell them at work, I'm happy to put people on to a better product though

Kirsty
16th June 2007, 09:14 AM
I borrowed one with Dylan, and they are awful! Very front heavy, and not comfy at all.

Danni
16th June 2007, 09:24 AM
The weight distribution is the main problem with naturesway. With the ones K and I have, the weight is spread across the whole of the shoulder and it makes baby light to carry. With the naturesway, the shoulder strap is about as wide as a backpack ... so it's like carrying a rather heavy one on one side only.
They are also not as versatile with the different positions you can carry baby in.

I saw Danni and Kirsty wearing their lovely slings on Thursday; they looked so comfortable. Wish I'd had something like that when my girls were little!

Ohhhh i used it with Dylan today!!!! Talk about awesome!!! I was just running into the Warehouse, and S was at home with DH, so i took him in that, he loved it LOL and he's 10.5 kilos and i knew he was there, but it wasn't heavy.

Danni

Kylie

thanks for the photo's

Was wondering if you could have them upright (photo 2) she's not going to fall out ?

Mandy

Sounds awesome I have a sling but it just sits on your belly

Danni
27th June 2007, 04:31 AM
When I put Bri in upright, I tuck it behind her legs, rather than just behind her bum ... so she is sitting in it. Feels a bit more secure that way. Kirsty has pics, she just hasn't posted them yet.

file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Kirsty%20Gill/My%20Documents/My%20Pictures/Danni/2007-06-26%20008.jpgIt's funny because it feels SOOOOO much more secure than it looks. I do normally 'tuck' her in a bit more than it looks in that photo, so she's kinda sitting back a bit more. But there isn't any chance of her falling out, i promise! And she loves it coz she's nosey :P

Here's some pics of Danni and Brianna in a few holds.

How many different positions are there??

Kelly
11th July 2007, 09:14 PM
Mine is on its way :) How is the best way to put a baby in who wants to be as up right as possible?

Danni
11th July 2007, 09:47 PM
Once you have put the sling on (arm through, and ensuring that rounded seam is at the bottom), hold bubs upright, put his legs through and out the bottom, then fold the top over your shoulder.
The first shot of me with Brianna shows the hold, and although she is much older than your bub, it's very secure for littles as well. Their website will show you how to do it. :)

Kirsty
11th July 2007, 10:14 PM
I had Shannon upright in it due to reflux from the moment i got my sling. It's very secure and they love it! A must for ANY reflux baby!

Kelly
15th July 2007, 09:59 PM
Ok the pics on the other page are not working. I cannot get him in it comfy in the cradle hold..... his head seems to be pulled to the side (outwards) and the seam wont sit well even though im making it follow his spine. I'll keep trying

Kirsty
16th July 2007, 08:56 AM
Its hard at first but once you get it, its easy. Just keep practicing.

Danni
16th July 2007, 09:17 AM
Can ya post some pics of him in it Kelly so we can maybe see if you are doing anything wrong?

Kirsty
16th July 2007, 09:34 AM
Oh and did you look at their instructions on the website of how to get him in?

sooo a question for those who have one, is size across shoulders more important or height more important?

Kirsty
6th May 2008, 10:32 PM
Across shoulders. Definitely.

I have one i might sell you if you are this size. It's a Medium.

Lilvirgo
6th May 2008, 10:38 PM

Lilvirgo
6th May 2008, 10:52 PM

Kirsty
6th May 2008, 10:55 PM
remember it's based on YOUR size, not the baby size.

Kelly
6th May 2008, 10:56 PM
Oh, I just found James was really low slung in it. It might work for you?

Lilvirgo
6th May 2008, 10:58 PM
