I think people are purchasing these disks and plonking their kids in front of them thinking it's a good idea. I mean Einstein was a genius right?
The fact of the matter is, too much tv is NEVER a good thing, and how much is too much is going to depend on the age of the child. There is no way a 2 year old child should be watching two hours of tv a day, no matter what is being shown. My older kids don't want 2 hours of tv every day (today doesn't count, they are all off sick).
I would venture a guess that the Einstein vids are better for kids to watch than some other things, but no tv is better. :)

we have a big set of them and they were good for when she was just really little and getting her eyes to follow all the movement and the colours and stuff (but i used to mute it and put on proper music LOL) we haven't put one on in eons, they just don't capture her like say the wiggles. who she does the actions to and repeats words they say and doffy, gweg, trys to sing. and points them out in toy shops etc;
if she watches tv i sing and dance with her so needless to say it doesnt happen all day LOL

Yeah i have them, he hasn't watched them for months now, but i'll put them on for Shannon. I don't see it as a problem unless you use them as a babysitter LOL

Jacob used to love Baby Einstein as a wee baby - I think it used to take his mind off his reflux for a little while and I could get tea on or something (5-10mins MAX). Lilijana has always preferred Wiggles or something with a faster beat for her background music while playing.
