The fact that he has suits against him doesn't sound good, but not knowing the full story means that he shouldn't be judged IMO.

I agree with what Danni has said re: the doc though.

Sounds like it may have been more a problem with the ventouse machine than the doctor. There have been other cases where the suction was turned up too high and the baby has died, through no fault of the docs. I mean if the suction gage isn't reading correctly then it's no ones fault.
Stuff happens unfortunately. I think it's a good thing that we don't have the same "right to sue" that the US does.

I mean if the suction gage isn't reading correctly then it's no ones fault. Excuse me? A baby can die because the equipment isn't checked before use, and that's no one's fault? Oh i don't think so.

Accidents happen Kirsty. Not all the time, but sometimes. Sounds like this case may be one of those times. Tragic yes, but when that situation arises, it is NOT the doctors job to calibrate the machine. If the machine is faulty, then it isn't the docs job to fix it. In all likelihood they won't know it's faulty till something bad happens.

I agree with Kirsty accidents happen but when it comes to life and death of a babt those machines should be checked before and after each use and as often as possible...it is someones fault and imgladd we have that right to sue in the Us I would be having someones job for that!!!!
