Its now 2008 and less than 3 months till Emma turns one, and I know theres others about the same time too.
Have you started thinking about the big event yet?
What kind of ideas are you coming up with?
What sort of themes?
I don't really know where to start, but I am excited about it.
(and really amazed that it has come around so quickly!)
I'm sure its all been covered in other threads, but I thought it might be nice to have a fresh one for the 2007 babies (and anyone else who has good ideas!)

I suggest keeping it simple, no real structure and lots of finger food. Also not going to big on it is helpful, have 50 people turn up can be very overwhelming for a 1yo. We invited 20 (I think) and had 7 end up not coming. Oh and a brightly coloured cake makes for good photos for the day!

Well we'll be having the big mummybrain get together at Easter, which is the day before S birthday, so think i'll just have a dinner with the grandparents.

So far I have the venue sorted out... and I have a committee (being me and two of my friends) :)
I'm thinking maybe a pink theme.
I want to make the cake myself but don't really know where to start...but I think Selenas idea of having a bright cake is good. I guess it will be bright pink!

I just made a banana cake, iced with bright blue cream cheese icing and yellow royal icing stars, went down a treat, would recommend getting gel food colourings if you're going to do your own, they colour much better than liquid, much more vibrant, you don't use much but I'm sure you'll get through it over the years!

How many weeks before did you send out invites?

I think I did mine about a month before, don't like to make it to long that they forget about it but not to short either that they're already busy!
