Have you had any experience with post partum blues?
I seem to be stuck in the emotional teary stage... has not happened before, and I am now 5wks post partum so I would expect it to let up by now. When does it become post partum depression rather than just the normal baby blues?
I delivered on June 20th, and since I don't have a newborn to care for I am sleeping well and eating normal meals which usually helps me get my equilibrium back again.
when does it become a valid concern?

I would say that if it's bothering you, then it's a concern! Can you go to you doc and talk to them about it? See if they can suggest anything?

I would think that by now you should be asking questions, the sooner it's picked up the sooner it can be dealt with rather than getting worse. Given that you've given birth 5 times and you feel this isn't normal for you then you should be asking for help.

I agree with the otheres maybe you should talk with someone about it now rather than letting it continue to build up...

I'd certainly go see someone, it could be for any number of reasons why you are feeling this way. We do have a depression support group that you'd be most welcome to join :)

Can't speak to post-partum issues specifically, but for generic advice try this:
* avoid drugs and alcohol
* get plenty of sun
* exercise helps
* talking is good for you. There are folks here who've been there too.
