No its not Ashlyn is CHLOE!!!!

I am so seriously have had enough of this child. Every morning she gets up to go to the toilet around 6ish or even earlier and will not go back to sleep!! My own body is used to waking up and KNOWING she is up to something early, twice I have found her on the toilet floor colouring in or getting ready for school. Um its freezing cold in the morning esp in the loo, DARK and everyone is still asleep and she is blardy mucking around. I end up demanding her to come back to bed with me if daniel is at work and 8 times out of ten she still will not go back to sleep. So by the end of the day her eyes are red from tiredness and no matter what time she goes to bed the night before she will still get up and stay up!.

This morning I got up to her three times!! (looking for a teddy one time, the next doing something else!) I have threatened/warned her the night before even and now she thinks everything is funny!! I am beyond frustration here its getting beyond a joke!! for those who have older kids please tell me this is hopefully a stage lol I can understand if its summer but for goodness sakes it winter!!:pullhair::pullhair:

Jo I think if this were me I'd be introducing some kind of reward chart with stickers. Let her know that it is ok to get up and go to the toilet but she's to go STRAIGHT back to bed and sleep for another hour or so. I wouldn't let her jump into bed with you, I wouldn't even let her colour in. I think if this time is made as boring as possible Jo she may slowly get back into a good sleeping pattern.
Must be tiring for both of you

my girlz are the same... hoping its a stage. I like the idea of a reward for good behaviour! just think when she is a teen you wont be able to get her UP!

if you want her to go back to bed to keep warm and not too worried about the early waking... maybe set up parameters that are ok. Like she can sit in bed (covered up) and read until you come in to get her up -- my girlz are allowed to go and watch tv till I get up and even pour their own cereal. Generally they are quiet and I can sleep for an extra hour or so. Mine are up BEFORE the sun and its SUMMER here!

If all of the above suggestions fail, you could always tell her that (for example) if she gets up and stays up an hour earlier than she's supposed to, then she can go to bed an hour earlier to make up for the lost sleep.

Can't say I've tried it, but it might work. LOL

thanks for your suggestions guys I had another talk to her again today but I think I might invest in a clock for her room too she is also getting a portable dvd player for her birthday (rather that than a telly she has been asking for grr) I got this on special so she can use that to watch a dvd quietly in her room. Its just that she doesn't nap anymore cause of her age and I want to make her have a decent amount of sleep so she is all good for the day esp for school. All day today she was wandering around(the girls do this when they are tired) and annoying the heck out of us and now she has fallen asleep before 6.30pm! blah kids lol

omg! I have the same issue!

Akasha has been donig it for months, so I bought her an alarm set for 7am and told her she cant get up til the alarm goes off. Then I kept forgetting to set the alarm, and she started up again. Finally a couple of days ago she was so loud we had to yell and i told her she is not to get up until WE got up. she was letting Tia out of her room and turning the lights and T.V on then leaving the room and not watching it. grrr

^^ lol they both must be related there somewhere hehe

yeah chloe wakes up ashlyn too so ashlyn comes out rubbing her eyes. I remember one morning it was a saturday and was only like before 7 am she is whinging cause we were STILL in bed 'she goes you both are sleeping like KOALAS'!!! (LOL we are allowed to!) this morning she woke at 5 cause she wanted a light on so I did that (office light) and then 7am she came in our room and I thought cool she went back to sleep but nope I noticed a book open in the office and things everywhere!!!:pullhair: oh well lol will see how the clock goes when I get it this week.
