My wee girl turns 2 at the beginning of November.
She's been walking since just before her first birthday and now runs everywhere. She can't jump yet but certainly tries.
She feeds herself quite well and can drink from a normal cup (I take a spill proof cup out when we leave the house though).

As for her talking - it's certainly more developed than her sisters or half brothers were at the same age. She says 3 or 4 word sentances, can ask for most things she needs "I need drink now" "ready for sleep now" - her manners are also quite good for a young child - she usually remembers please and thank you and "love you mum".
SHe knows which animal makes which sounds "cow say mooo" etc for all common farm and zoo animals and pets.
She can count to six and likes to "count cootins" (curtains).

All up she probably has a couple hundred words and increasing every day. She also likes to play tricks and make jokes - will put on her daddies shoes then stomp around in them saying "Bubbys shoes, not daddies shoes" with a cheeky grin. She hates having her hair washed so will say "hair not gubby (grubby) shoes gubby".

She knows a couple of shapes and colours too.

What are your young toddlers doing?

yes my daughter was about the same when she was that age.

I don't think my son will be as advanced though. He's a bit lazier bless him.

your child sounds very clever kiwimummy:)
my twins are 2 in december, and are no where near as vocally advanced as that! they know a few words, and thats about it.
they do a lot of stuff, but damned if I can remember what, I am usually to busy to notice!

Kendra is much the same as your daughter kiwimummy - she was running at 10 months and talking heaps remembers the way to places in a car, peoples houses etc.
Knows just about all of her body parts and names and points to them, rattles off numbers in no particular order - her 2 favourties atm is 78 and 98??? Where she knows them from I'm not sure. If she doesn't want to do something it is "no not it" "shoes and jacket" when we are going out.

And heaps more that I can't remember!!

christ! are my kids stupid?or am i just not paying attention, or are they the product of the last of a lot of kids? I dont know. I do remember that lucy, my first child was way advanced of all my others, But I imagine that was because I had all the time in the world to devote to her alone...

My boy is 2 next monday and doing much the same as yours Kiwimmmy, umm knows all parts of his body (handy when something hurts), can run and jump. Is a little daredevil and jumps from the chair arm onto a beanbag. Vocab is really good, can easily describe what he wants, things around him. Repeats numbers and all but three letters of the alphabet m,n and w are the only ones he cant get out.

He also had three days where he was using the toilet for every wee, but somehow yesterday that completly went out the window :(

OMG I so know what you mean with the daredevil part - Kendra jumps from chair to chair in the lounge!! and off the chair and onto the washing that dad had just folded that she has dumped on the floor for a nice landing pad.... we are just starting the toilet training thing with her - if differs from day to day. some days she can have 2-3 accidents in knickers and then other days its 6-7 changes of pants...

No Kermit I definatly dont think your twins are stupid what they are saying seems quite advanced for a 2 year old to me I know Alex dint say alot at all till he was almost 3 Ash knows a lot of easy words at 17 months but each child is different and anyway dont they say twins usually develop a language all to them selves? Maybe they talk well you just dont understand...

Ditto with Annabelle (she's not 15 months yet but still, no way she's going to be doing all that in the next few months)

yeah, maybe they speak twin. and I dont, so I have no idea what they are saying...

no, I definatly think it has something to do with the amount of time you spend with them. first borns get uber attention, and 5th and 6th get whatever they can...which is not a lot sometimes.
